In a world that feels loud, divided and uncertain, what holds you steady?
Since the first stone was laid in September of 1907, and the final one set in September of 1990, the Cathedral has stood through world wars, deep social change and decades of national transformation. And now, in the 35 Septembers since its completion, it continues to be a source of hope, healing and faith.
That’s why we’ve designated Thursday, September 25 as Cathedral Giving Day—a special opportunity to honor the ministry that matters most to you and help sustain the future of this beloved Cathedral.
Thanks to a generous group of Cathedral friends, all gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000. And you don’t have to wait—early gifts will count toward the match and help us reach our Giving Day goal of 500 donors.
When you give, you can direct your gift to one of four vital projects:
Preservation & Maintenance – Help safeguard this sacred space, so it continues to lift hearts and tell our nation’s story for generations to come.
Music – Support the music that brings this space to life—from centuries-old choral traditions to inclusive performances that reflect the richness of all God’s people.
Digital Cathedral – Expand our reach through livestreamed worship, online community, podcasts and devotionals that meet people wherever they are.
Where Needed Most – Support the Cathedral’s daily ministry and help us respond faithfully to the needs of the moment.
Each of these projects is essential to the Cathedral’s mission—and your gift of celebration ensures we remain a place of welcome, peace and hope for all who seek it. To make your matched gift, please visit cathedral.org/GivingDay today.
