F.I.S.H. Foundation

The ongoing work of F.I.S.H. Foundation, Inc., follows the vision of Dorothy Hanle, who retired from a successful career with a wish to use her assets in Christian service to others. The Rev. Dr. Kathy J. Nelson and Judith A. Cashmore serve with her as president and vice president for education, respectively.

With a strong belief in the importance of helping others reach their full potential, the foundation has worked with organizations globally and across the United States to support initiatives to promote a healthy body, educated mind, and nurtured spirit. These have included, since 2007, a variety of programs at the National Cathedral that promote interfaith dialogue and reconciliation as well as sound spiritual practice. The foundation has also been very generous in funding programs to help the Cathedral minister to the nation: in addition to the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service, F.I.S.H. Foundation was an essential supporter of the “Call to Compassion” weekend in 2011 to help the nation commemorate and move forward from the events of September 11, 2001.

Washington National Cathedral is deeply appreciative of F.I.S.H. Foundation, Inc., for a collaborative vision and ongoing partnership that have helped to inform, inspire, and transform the lives of others. Learn more at www.fishfoundationinc.org.
